Activities
Animal Lover
Alice adores all animals. She has a cat of her own and has been a donor and volunteer at organizations like the Central Missouri Humane Society. Until she was forced to sell her house in order to pay legal expenses, she fed birds, opossums, raccoons, rabbits and deer in her back yard every day. She is an animal rights advocate and would be the first to rescue a furry friend in need.

Traveler
Alice was a frequent traveler before she became disabled. Today, her mobility is limited by her wheelchair, and pain keeps her from driving long distances or taking long airplane flights. In this picture, she is traveling with her niece in Cairo in November 2000.
Violinist
Alice is a talented musician and played the violin/fiddle for many years, following in the steps of her father who was also a violinist. She also played the piano and the guitar. Unfortunately, rheumatoid arthritis has stopped her from pursuing these passions today. She was also a gifted singer, but the cervical discectomy and fusion surgery she had in 2019 caused her voice to deteriorate, and she now suffers from persistent hoarseness, coughing and trouble swallowing. In this picture, Alice is on the right in the back row, holding the violin that her father, a master violin maker, made for her.

Reader
Alice has been a Great Reader all her life, and always has her nose stuck in a book. One of the saddest days of her life was when she lost all her books in Hurricane Katrina. This picture was taken in Alice’s house in Louisiana just one week after the hurricane.
