Alice’s Family
Alice was born in 1956 in Columbia, Missouri. She was raised by her loving parents Gilbert Weiss and Angela DeGioia. Her parents were both U.S. army vets who had met while stationed in Europe during World War II. She has an older brother named David and an older sister named Anne Marie.

Alice’s Sister
Alice and her older sister Anne Marie have always been very close. They traveled across all of South America for one month when Alice was 12, and this trip is a very fond memory for both of them. To this day they chat every day. Despite being ten years apart in age, they have always been best friends.
Foster Sisters
Alice had two Mexican foster sisters when she was growing up, whom she adored: Nora and Camila. She was heartbroken when Camila passed away from COVID in 2021.

Alice’s Nieces and Nephew
Alice is very close to her nieces and nephew. She loves children and has always been like a second mother to them. She still talks to them often and is an important part of their lives.
Alice’s Parents
Alice’s parents were both U.S. Army veterans who fought for America in World War II. She was very close to them and took care of her elderly father for years while he lived with dementia in her home. Alice is close to her sister and nieces/nephew to this day. Alice is a model citizen who has dedicated her life to helping others, especially the elderly. She also loves cats and advocates for animal rights. Photo: Gilbert and Angela’s Wedding Photo, England, 1944

Hurricane Katrina
Alice moved to Slidell, Louisiana in July 2005 and lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. She had just lost Jim the year before and was still in mourning. All of her possessions, including family memorabilia and photos, were lost in the flood.
