Volunteer Work

Volunteer work has always been an essential part of Alice’s life. In past years she volunteered with seniors in southeast Missouri, with local food banks, with public libraries, with the Boone County Humane Society, and with retired veterans. More recently, she spent hours each week helping register Americans to vote, provided Information Technology support at a local non-profit organization, and fundraised for a center for abandoned children. She’s also the Secretary/Treasurer of the Homeowners Association for her neighborhood, and created their website and accounting database.

Alice has a great love for all living creatures. She spent many years volunteering with local animal shelters where she served as a Foster Parent for many sick cats and abandoned kittens. At her home she feeds wild birds, opossums, raccoons, rabbits and deer, and grows special plants and flowers that attract bees and hummingbirds. She currently lives with two cats named Isabelle and Lucy.
